David joined the Martin Lab in 2019, where his thesis work focused on the Melanoma Cell Adhesion Molecule (MCAM) gene and the impact of this gene in breast epithelial cells in relation to metastasis and EMT.
Darin Gilchrist

Darin joined the Martin Lab in 2022, where his thesis focused on characterizing the apoptotic sensitivity of tumor cells using TetherChip technology in order to serve as a phenotypic marker that predicts the risk of cancer metastasis in patients with breast cancer. He graduated in Spring 2026 and returned to medical school to finish his M.D./Ph.D. at UMB.
Makenzy Mull

Makenzy joined the Martin Lab in 2020, where her thesis work focused primarily on ATP and Ca2+ signaling in metastatic breast cancer. She graduated in 2024 and stayed on as a postdoc with the Martin lab. As of 2025, Makenzy has started a new postdoctoral postition at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus with Dr. Jennifer Richer.
